"My story is a journey across borders and generations. Though I call Canada home today, my roots trace back to mid-1800s Amsterdam, where my Italian ancestor first settled after leaving Italy. A master of his craft, he began as an apprentice birdcage maker, eventually marrying a Dutch woman and weaving our family into the fabric of Holland. Today, five generations later, I carry that same spirit of adventure and craftsmanship in everything I do."

Jan's background is rooted in rigorous academic and practical foundations:

• Dual University Degrees: Expertly trained in both Process Engineering and Information Technology.
• 40 Years of Electronics Engineering: A seasoned career including the founding of Source Audio in the Netherlands, where Jan gained acclaim for designing and building bespoke Class-A power and pre-amplifiers.
• HAM Radio Veteran: Decades spent as an active radio amateur—building personal transmitters—provided a unique advantage in understanding high-frequency circuit design and behaviours of HF circuits.
• College Teacher: Currently Jan teaches Audio Electronics for Recording Engineers at one of the Vancouver Art Colleges.
